Futurewood Corp. and North Shore Forest Products, sister companies of Johnson Timber, staff 12 professional foresters throughout upper Wisconsin and northern Minnesota. They own 13,000 acres of forested land, which reduces our dependency on the open market supply of timber. Plus, their diverse location of foresters allows them to respond to local weather and market conditions.
Our forestry division also purchases stumpage from public lands and private landowners to help meet the requirements of the forest industry. Since the late 1980s, our private landowner assistance program has been helping private landowners with the knowledge to manage their forest lands.
